A method of ‘adhering’ material to your tooth or teeth. Dental bonding procedures are a little more involved than direct composite bonding. Adhesive bonding, for example, includes a stage in which the dentist applies an etching product to your tooth.Â
The etching process makes it easier for the restorative material to adhere to your tooth. After the etching is finished, the dentist prepares the tooth by applying a bonding agent and an adhesive.
After applying the restorative material, the dentist will use a curing light to solidify the adhesive and bonding material. Adhesive bonding is a broad term for adhering to restorative materials such as inlays, onlays, porcelain veneers, fillings, etc.
